Low saturated fat diet includes foods that are low in saturated fats like Lean meats, fruits, vegetables and low fat dairy products etc. Eating a diet that is high in saturated fat can raise the level of cholesterol in the blood. High cholesterol increases the risk of heart disease. The oils that are high in saturated fats are coconut oil, cocoa butter, palm oil, butter, lard or tropical fats and palm kernel oil. These oils can be replaced by healthy oils like olive oil peanut oil, safflower oil and soybean oil.
